The Foundation for Terrebonne General Medical Center, along with the TGMC Community Sports Institute, has announced six Bayou Region Athletic Hall of Fame inductees for the inaugural induction event.

According to a press release issued by TGMC, legendary coaches Gerald Albert and Lucas “Buddy” Marcello will join local pro athletes Eric Andolsek, Bobby Hebert, Frank Lewis and Scott Sanders in the group’s first class.

The honorees will be inducted at a ceremony on April 28 from 6-9:30 p.m. at Cyprus Columns in Gray.

Each honoree will also earn a spot of prominence on the Bayou Region Athletic Wall of Fame, which is located in the TGMC Community Sports Institute.

“We received numerous outstanding nominations and the steering committee had some tough decisions to make,” said Mike Fakier, a founding board member. “Ultimately, we selected a great class to represent our first year.”

Tickets for the event will be $50.

There will also be a live auction, which includes lunch for five with former Saints great Deuce McAllister.

Proceeds from the banquet will benefit the Foundation’s purchase of a mobile medical unit, which will assist TGMC’s Blood Donor Center and other departments of TGMC in providing health and wellness to the community.
