A South Lafourche native had a huge day on Saturday afternoon – enough to earn National Player of the Week honors.
Northwestern State linebacker and South Lafourche graduate Peyton Guidry had a monstrous game in Saturday’s 10-7 victory against Houston Baptist, earning College Sports Madness’s National Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Guidry did a little bit of everything for the Demons in the defensive struggle. He posted a career-high 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles – enough to help his team get their second win of the season.
It is the first time Guidry earns the National Player of the Week honors.
