No more than an hour after the Ariza trade was announced, the Hornets made another deal last Wednesday, acquiring guard Marco Belinelli from the Toronto Raptors.

In exchange for Belinelli, the Hornets shipped forward Julian Wright across the border to Toronto.

Last season, Belinelli averaged just 7 points per game in 66 total games with the Raptors, playing 17 minutes per game.

But the Hornets are excited about the 6-foot-5-inch Italian’s ability to stretch the floor in Chris Paul’s drive-and-kick offensive attack.

For his career, the new Hornets’ guard has made 38.8 percent of his 3-point attempts.
