Hunter safety course begins June 26

A two-day hunter’s safety class is set for Thursday and Friday at South Lafourche High School’s cafeteria, Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre said.

The first day’s session will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Participants must be at least 10 years old and must pass a written and practical exam to be certified. They are also urged to bring a bag lunch on the first day of the class.

On day two, the course will move from South Lafourche to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Shooting Range at 3451 La. Highway 182 near Raceland. It will be held from 8 a.m. until noon.

Participants are required to attend both days.
