Miles also announced that Joe Robinson has joined the LSU staff as special teams coordinator and defensive line assistant, coaching specifically the defensive tackles and nose guards for the Tigers.
Robinson, a 1985 graduate of LSU, returns to Baton Rouge after serving as special teams coordinator and defensive ends coach at Arizona for four years.
Robinson will take over the role of special teams coordinator from Peveto, who will now focus strictly on defense.
Mallory and Peveto both enter their fourth year with the Tigers in 2008.
Mallory will continue to coach the LSU defensive backs, while Peveto will continue his roll as the team’s linebackers coach. Mallory and Peveto assume the roll that was vacated when Bo Pelini departed to take the head coaching job at Nebraska.
