Nicholls releases 2011 baseball schedule

The Nicholls State baseball team announced its 2011 schedule this past week and a few prominent programs are going to brush through Thibodaux during the season.

The Colonels will host Louisiana-Lafayette on Feb. 23 and LSU on March 16 during coach Seth Thibodeaux’s inaugural season.

“We will play 33 home games and we look forward to seeing Colonel fans at Didier Field to help make it a great atmosphere for Colonel Baseball,” Thibodeaux said. “One of our goals is to establish ourselves as one of the best programs in the state and in the region. With that in mind we play 11 schools from the state of Louisiana at home, and we have LSU, UL-Lafayette, UL-Monroe, UNO, South Alabama and Southern in non-conference action all at home this year.”

The season begins Feb. 18 when the team takes on Grambling in the Louisiana Tech Classic.
