June 20, 2007The Southland Conference announced today that 686 student-athletes, including 36 from Nicholls State University, have been named to the CapitalOne Bank / SLC Commissioner’s 2007 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Presented by CaptialOne Bank, the honor roll recognizes student-athletes who competed in league championship sports during the spring semester and maintained a 3.0 semester grade point average while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours. Each Southland institution is responsible in selecting the student-athletes for the spring roll. Student-athletes in sports played during the fall semester have the opportunity to be named the Academic Honor Roll following the fall semester.
Of those 36 honorees for the Colonels, baseball placed 14 players on the list, followed by five members of the men’s golf team, as well as women’s track and field team, four softball players and women’s tennis athletes and two representatives from both the women’s golf and men’s tennis teams.
