The prep basketball and soccer seasons may be over, but several Tri-parish athletes are being rewarded for their efforts on the hardwood and playing fields in the past season.

The LSWA announced their All-State basketball team last week and several local athletes made the cut.

Following a dominant senior season that ended in a state championship, Vandebilt Catholic center Theresa Plaisance has been named the LSWA’s Outstanding Player in Class 4A.

Plaisance was also a first-team All-State selection and the Gatorade Louisiana Girls’ Player of the Year for the second straight year in 4A after averaging 16 points per game on the season.

Plaisance is the first Louisiana girls’ basketball player to win back-to-back awards since Seimone Augustus.

Also on the first team all-state roster from the area was Ellender senior Trevon Lewis. Lewis averaged more than 23 points per game, while leading the Patriots to the quarterfinals of the 4A state playoffs.

But Plaisance and Lewis were not the only Tri-parish student athlete to be honored by the LSWA.
