15: The number of years in between district championships for Terrebonne High School. The Tigers clinched their first title since 1995 with a blowout win over South Terrebonne Friday.

3: The number of defensive touchdowns Vandebilt scored in a 54-14 thrashing of Morgan City. The Terriers returned two interceptions for touchdowns, while also recovering a fumble.

304: The total rushing yards Thibodaux accumulated in a 32-14 win against H.L. Bourgeois – a win that moved the Tigers back to .500 for the season.

SportsNet Week 8 Players of the Week:

Bronze: Terrebonne quarterback Mike Williams – A regular on the players of the week list, Williams tossed for 173 yards, while rushing for 76 more with three total touchdowns to clinch the district championship for Terrebonne.

Silver: Thibodaux halfbacks Terry Ausama and Raheem Richard – The Tigers’ halfback duo combined for 29 carries and 210 yards with five touchdowns in the Tigers’ 32-14 win against H.L. Bourgeois Friday night.

Gold: Vandebilt Catholic defense – The Terriers’ defense scored three touchdowns – in the first half – of Vandebilt’s easy win against Morgan City. Seth Ware recovered a fumble and took it into the endzone for a score and Lionheart Leslie and Beau Smith returned interceptions for touchdowns.

The Super 6 power rankings (ranking Casey Gisclair’s six best Tri-parish teams):

1. Terrebonne – We’ve had the Tigers as our local champs all season long. Well now they’re more than paper champs, they’re district champs. Congrats to Coach Hill and his staff and players for a job well done!

2. Patterson – Sure, the competition wasn’t exactly stiff, but Patterson sure mauled their opponent this weekend. They are really building steam before the postseason.

3. Vandebilt – Vandebilt just keeps on fighting. They looked real, real good Friday night. One should never doubt how far spirit can carry a football team.

4. Central Catholic – We said last week that we were curious to see how Central Catholic responded after a loss. One would think a 63-6 win is pretty good.

5. E.D. White – Another sound and steady victory for the Cardinals in a thorough win against Berwick.

6. Thibodaux – And alas, Thibodaux returns to the list. After limping (literally due to injuries) to a 1-4 start, Thibodaux has fired back with three-straight wins to get some buzz as they make a playoff push.
