December 18, 2015Alphonse J. “A.J.” Cenac Jr., 76, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015.
Mr. Cenac served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve Corps. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Nicholls State University and master’s from LSU. He taught science at Houma Junior High and South Terrebonne High schools, and civics at Oaklawn Junior High. He served as principal at Caldwell Elementary and Montegut Elementary schools. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and vacationing in Destin, Fla., his favorite place in the world.
Mr. Cenac is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jane Blanchard Cenac; son, Seth (Yuko) Cenac; brother-in-law, Cleveland Marcel Jr.; and sisters-in-law, Janie (Cleveland) Marcel and Shirley Cenac.
A memorial service will be held in January at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. Donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory are appreciated.
