Barbara Denise Moore

Barbara Denise Moore, 84, a native of Rising Star, Texas, and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, July 10, 2015.

Mrs. Moore was an avid world traveler and contributor to the education of children’s lives for 36 years in Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes. She also was an avid animal lover, and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Houma.

She is survived by her husband, John Moore; children, Vickie (Cliff) Smith, Stella Carroll (Don) Prosperie, Kay (Curtis) Labat and John S. Moore II; brother, Loyd D. Carroll; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Houma, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the church.
