Benoit resigns after lengthy run as Chamber President

Longtime Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kathy Benoit is stepping down from her position next month.

Benoit announced she is resigning on Sept. 30 after 18 years of leading the chamber. She said while she enjoyed her time with the chamber, she is ready to start a new chapter in her life.

“I just felt it was time to try something new. 18 years is a long time. It’s been a great 18 years, but I think I just need to move on,” Benoit said.

The chamber is currently accepting applications for its presidency, with the deadline to the position being Aug. 29.

Benoit said she will not be involved in the selection of her successor.
