Besse Meryl Mills

Besse Meryl Mills, 10, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died on Sunday, September 11, 2016.

Besse was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She was a Houma Lions Club Leo, Girl Scout and a Shrine child. She climbed mountains, saw the world and competed in triathlons.

She is survived by her mother, Melanie Mills; father, Raymond (Jessica) Bourg; half-sisters, Elise Martin and Audrey Bourg; half-brother, Raymond Bourg; grandparents, Helen and Richard Mills and Mary and Raymond Bourg; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2 in Houma.
