Jail inmate accused of rape dies after hanging

Clarence Johnson, 85, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
Mr. Johnson was a retired employee of the city of Thibodaux.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Pearl Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Burial is at Old Fountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Thibodaux.
