Marie Duper Cleo was known by family and friends as a great story teller, jokester, and always willing to help someone. Many lives have been touched by this great man, if asked, anyone he met would have a story to tell. He was very generous and never used to words “no” or “I can’t” very often. He believed in hard work and at 80 years old he was still working hard riding the dozer. Known as C letch the tree man. One of the original Arborists in the area. Dedicating over 50 years in preserving and beatifying trees in Terrebonne and Lafourche Parish. He helped teach this trade to his sons and other local Arborists. His legacy can be seen in many of the great oaks. Next time you are riding in the area take a look at the big trees and remember Cleo had a hand in shaping the scene for all of us to enjoy.
