Nicholls archivist was key to solving slavery-era mystery

Colly Joseph Percle, 93, a native of Chackbay, La., and resident of Des Allemands, La., died on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
Mr. Percle was a World War II veteran and received a Purple Heart. He retired from Avondale Shipyard after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Thomas) Tregle; and one grandchild.
Burial is at St. Gertrude Catholic Cemetery in Des Allemands.
