Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Aaron Merritt, 52, of Abbeville on Friday, Sept. 18, after an anonymous tipster identified him as an alleged video voyeur at a department store in Galliano, La.
In August, a woman was trying on clothes in a dressing room in the department store when she noticed someone was taking photos of her from underneath the door. The woman opened the door just enough to see the man.
Surveilance footage from the store was released to the public and someone called Crime Stoppers Bayou Region’s hotline and identified Meritt as the alleged peeping torn.
Merritt was booked into Lafourche Parish jail and released on a $5,000 bond.
Gun altercation yields multiple arrests
Houma Police officers responded Friday to an argument involving a gun at a home on Original Court. Officers arrested Kardale Johnson, 20, of Original Court, was arrested after he allegedly pulled a gun on another male occupant of the home during an argument they were having. Johnson was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.
Officers ran the names of the other home’s occupants through their database and found Olivia Plaisance, 21, of Original Court, was arrested for a speeding warrant.
A 17-year-old female was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear to juvenile court.
A man who started arguing with officers, Gaige Corbitt, 20, of Gibb Street, was seen with a wad of money that turned out to be $600 in alleged counterfeit dollars. Corbitt was arrested and charged with monetary instrument abuse.
All of the adults were booked at the Terrebonne Parish jail. Kardale T. Johnson was released on a $5,000 bond. Olivia Plaisance was released on a $500 bond. Gaige Corbitt was released on a $5,000 bond.
Information regarding juveniles charged with crimes are not normally public record.
Thibodaux man charged with vehicle burglary
Thibodaux police arrested Calvin Hollis, 26, of 270 Jolie Oaks Blvd., on Saturday after witnesses alleged seeing him rob a Ford F-150 truck parked in a lot on the 200 block of East Bayou Road and run into a room in the hotel next door.
Thibodaux officers arrested Hollis on the warrants and also charged him with simple burglary of a motor vehicle.
