January 19, 2018Delmae Breerwood Delmae Melancon Breerwood, 95, a native of Thibodaux and a resident of Houma, died on Monday, January 1, 2018.
Mrs. Breerwood is survived by her sons, Roy Francis Breerwood Jr. and wife Cheryl King, and Glen Joseph Breerwood and wife Mary “Sunnie” Wernig; her daughter, Ellen Martha Breerwood Chauvin and husband William; her grandchildren, Roy “Buddy” Breerwood III, Brian Breerwood, Stephen Breerwood, Aaron Breerwood, Craig Breerwood, Margaret Aimee Breerwood, Glen Paul Breerwood, Christopher Breerwood, David Breerwood, Joseph “Joey” Breerwood, and William “Caleb” Chauvin; and her great-grandchildren, Drew, Jacob, Jack, Brennan, Hayden, Sydney, Allison, Adam, Gianna, Cassia, Keelie, and Annalese.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved by her family dearly and will be missed. Delmae worked as a bookkeeper before meeting the love of her life, Roy Breerwood. They had a blessed 66 years together and are now reunited in Heaven with their Heavenly Father. She was a member of The Houma Knight Twirlers Square Dance Club, The Houma Oil Wives, The HARC Duplicate Bridge Club, and YMCA. She achieved the status of Life Master with the International Bridge Association.
