June 13, 2018The St Mary Pariah Sheriff’s office continues its investigation as to how four prisoners escaped from the parish jail in Centerville. after they were reported missing Sunday.
However. Sheriff Scott An-Blum said Monday, the results of that investigation may or may not be released to the public for security reasons.
The pariah issued a BOLO (he on the lookout for) four in ma tear William Deans, 99, Jamie Scarbrough, 28, Tanner Scarbrough 18. and Elias Todd. 24. on Sunday, after 1:30 p.m. The Scarbrough inmates are brothers.
However, that BOLO was issued one hour after this emergency alert text was blasted parish wide Attention: there has been an escape event at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. We will update you as the situation continue a We urge you to report all suspicious activity to 911 or the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The inmates were being held on the following charges: W. Deans, domestic abuse by strangulation; J. Scarborough, illegal possession of stolen things. possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of marijuana: T. Scarbrough, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm with an obliterated number, and E. Todd* theft of a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, theft and criminal damage to property.
All of the men are white, and weigh under 200 pounds: W. Deans, 5’6, 150 pounds; J, Scarbrough. 5’9, 150 pounds, and has tattoos on neck and facial area; T. Scarbrough. 5’11. 150 pounds; and E. Todd, 5’8. 170 pounds, and has tattoos on neck and facial area; specifically, the number “33” on his forehead.
The sheriff did not want to elaborate on how the men escaped, or what time they escaped, saying, “it is an internal matter”.
However; facebook allegations stoked the incident over the weekend, one in particular from an organization that identities itself as the Coalition for a Better St Mary.
The coalition’s page does not list any administrators of the site, but states that it was created for the purpose of bringing awareness to the current state of parish government, as well as other tax funded organizations.
The coalition insinuates the following timeline of the incident: On June a, the St Mary Parish Jail discovered that four of it inmates were missing. After further investigation, it was learned that one of the inmates had escaped in the early morning hours of June 2, and the others had escaped later than evening, around 8 p.m.
Other posts included one by someone named James Moore, who questioned. “No head-count all weekend?”
Another post from a woman named Yvette Boudreaux said, “They escaped yesterday (Saturday). early or Airing the night Friday, because someone I know picked up the Todd guy coming out of the swamp around lunch, saying his boat sunk, and the man called the sheriff’s office and reported it, and dropped the guy off at a boat landing”.
As of press time Monday, Deans and the Scarbrough brothers were apprehended Elias Tooddremainedat-large.
Elias Todd is still at large after an escape from the St. Mary’s jail.
