Geneva “Genny” Nora, 57, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015.
Mrs. Nora was a champion for education; after earning her GED, she went on to pursue and obtain her medical assistant and dietician degree. She furthered her education by pursuing an accounting major to become a certified public accountant.
Mrs. Nora is survived by her husband, Wallace Nora; son, Antoine (Demetrice) Baptist Jr.; daughters, Lekesha Baptiste, Shandricka Waller, Shawna Waller and Lekeitha (Michael) Theriot; stepdaughter, Umeika Jamison; brothers, Mark and Huey Phillip Jr.; sisters, Cathy Lewis, Golena (Clarence) Ward and Ethel Mae Waller; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Burial is at Moses Baptist Church Cemetery in Thibodaux, La.
