Jacqueline Hebert Chaisson, 88, a native of Houma and resident of Bourg, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

She is survived by three sons, Brant David and wife, Linda of Tallahassee, Florida; Breck Damian and wife, Donna, of Bourg; and Bart Douglas of Houma; seven grandchildren, Marissa Kaye Fanguy, Benjamin Douglas Chaisson, Emily Rose Chaisson, Elizabeth Anne Ladnier, Courtney Leigh Chaisson, Stefanie Raye Chaisson Authement and Samantha Kaye Chaisson Breaux; and four great-grandchildren, Annaliesa Renee Fanguy, Nicholas Michael Fanguy, Dominic Joseph Fanguy and Alexander Ray Authement.

Her first career was working for Mahler furs as a model. After raising her family she and a friend started and ran J.J.’s Stitchery. She enjoyed teaching needlepoint, knitting and crocheting. She then worked for Terrebonne Parish as the draftsperson in the planning department. She was an accomplished artist and seamstress who for over 40 years hosted once a week at her house what she called ‘playday’. This acted as an opportunity for her many friends to come over and practice their craft skills and work on and help each other with their projects.

We would like to thank Haydel Hospice, Dr. Russell Henry and her sitters, Cynthia, Tamara, Ann and Annette. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
