Nicholls archivist was key to solving slavery-era mystery

Josephine Bergeron LeBouef, 78, a native and resident of Houma, La, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
Ms. LeBouef is survived by her children, Brenda Billiot, Michael and Wade (Connie) Bergeron and Nicholas (Angela) Comeaux; siblings, Wanda Hook, Virginia Pellegrin, Evelyn Bethancourt and Joseph and Paul Bergeron; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Burial is at Bayou Black Cemetery in Bayou Black.
