Cut Off man’s work ethic, dedication the foundation for his success
September 23, 2015Supporters of St. Matthew’s Episcopal School and Church gathered Sept. 19 for Sod Day, a campus beautification project for the school and nearby church.
Early Saturday morning, adults and 6th and 7th grade students helped place the strips of grass on an expanse dedicated to a new play area, a spot that will provide students a much needed green space to gather during recess, Head of St. Matthew’s Episcopal School Myers McAllister said. Sod was also placed at the corner of Belanger and Barrow Streets near the soon-to-be completed church work.
“We had an excellent turnout,” McAllister said. “About 35 volunteers came out to help and 18 palettes totaling 8,000 square feet were laid down in just two and a half hours.”
