Special honors shall be granted to Coco, the Bayou Country Children’s Museum’s alligator mascot, when the museum’s first birthday is celebrated Sunday.

The museum, at 211 Rue Betancourt in Thibodaux, will begin the Sept. 27 festivities with a members-only party from 10 a.m. to Noon.

The party-goers will sing Happy Birthday to the alligator and eat ice cream until it runs out, according to an announcement from the museum.

The general public can attend from Noon to 4 p.m. at a cost of $7 per person.

But dress as a cowboy or cowgirl and your admission is discounted and is only $2.

Games, crafts, story time, ice cream sundaes and $2 lead-line horse rides will be available throughout the day.

Online information can be found at bccm.info on the Web or by calling (985)-446-2200.

The Bayou Country Children’s Museum is designed to provide children ages 2-10 years with a unique learning environment that enhances the classroom experience.

The museum also offers birthday parties to citizens who want to celebrate with the facility.
