Loris A. Gaspard, 95, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Wednesday, March 11, 2015.


A true Cajun man, Mr. Gaspard played fiddle in the Gaspard Family Band and, later, accordion in the Gaspard Brother Band. He was a carpenter, mechanic, fisherman, trapper and jack-of-all-trades.

He is survived by his son, Danny (Kate) Gaspard; daughters, Jeanette Cheramie and Elaine (Danny) Rodrigue; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilkerson and Tilden Gaspard Sr.; and sister, Anna Cheramie.

Burial is at Cheramie Cemetery.
