The Mary Bird Perkins TGMC (MBP-TGMC) Golf Classic is back for 2019-where professional and amateur golfers and other at tendees will engage in a week full of golf, entertainment and fun-all while raising funds that benefit the MBP-TGMC Cancer Center.

“We’re wry excited. The community was very much behind us, wanting us to come back and be a part of it as well as the All-Pro Tour” said Tiffany Adams. MBP-TGMC Development Coordinator. “Ellendale Country Club also wanted us to be a part of it again. So we are very thrilled to be back involved with it”

The Pro-Am Tournament on April 9 tees off the Classic. Teams consisting of three amateurs and one professional will compete at this event.

The following day, the professional tournament begins. Pros will rigorously compete over the course of four days to win the tournament, gain higher rankings and earn, according to the All Pro Tour’s website, an estimated purse of $125,000.

The Friday night of the Classic, guest a will be in for a night full of amusement.

The “Par-Tee” will begin in Ellendale’s clubhouse at 6:30 pm. At this gathering, there will be food provided by restaurants in the area such as Cristiano Ristorante and Milano, just to name a few.

Fishing trips, hotel stays and artwork are some of the items/occasions up for bidding at the events silent auction

Local musician Harley Talbot will perform throughout the night for par-tee-goers.

The Glow Ball Tournament starts when the sun goes down that evening. Participants get to play with glow in the dark golf balls on a lit up-with glow sticks and glow pin flags – Ellendale course.

Tickets for the Par-Tee are $ 30 a person; for Par-Tee and Glow Ball Tournament they are $50. Tickets can be purchased at marybird.org/tgmc/golf/.

“Its just an incredible event. It’s an unique experience that we have here in Houma.” Adams said. “It’s a fun experience to come to with your friends, get involved and give back to the Cancer Center.”

Adams continued to speak on the importance of this event and others that benefit MBP-TGMC, its patients and the local community as a whole.

“It supports patient navigation services, transportation and medication for those that can’t afford it…In all of our efforts here, we try to decrease the burden on cur patients…Our philanthropy dollars also support early detection, prevention and education.” Adams said. “…All of the money raised from any of our events – including this golf tournament – stays right here in Houma or goes through our Cancer Center to help families right here in the Bayou Region.”
