Nicholls’ top four batters combined to go 7-of-18 in Sunday afternoon’s win with 5 combined RBI.
Centerfielder Justin Holt led the rally out of the lead-off spot in the order, going 3-of-5 on the day to spark the Colonels. Three-hole batter Kyle Reese was just as good, batting 2-of-4 with 2 RBI. Cleanup hitter Tanner Vandevere was also 2-of-4 on the day.
With the early runs, Colonels starter Justin Sinibaldi was flawless, tossing five innings and allowing just two earned runs to get his ninth win of the season.
