Nicholls education student aces national contest

Raymond Anthony “Me-Nue” Matherne, 85, a native of Gheens, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died at 2:18 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
Mr. Matherne is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nona Mae Matherne; children, Donna (Dave) Landry, Dwain (Kathleen) and Leon (April) Matherne, Julie (Mark) Breaux and Valerie (Donovan) Bourgeois; sister, Joyce Boudreaux; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Burial is at Raceland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Raceland.
