Rebecca Melancon

Rebecca Bush Melancon, 67, a native of Lafayette, La., and resident of Houma, La., died on Saturday, December 17, 2016.

Mrs. Melancon was a graduate of Thibodaux High and Nicholls State University. She worked in education for 36 years, with 29 of those as a teacher. She was also a devout Catholic and led prayer groups and taught religion in the Houma-Thibodaux area.

She is survived by her children, Aimee and Fr. Andre Melancon; mother, Rayetta Bush; and siblings, William (Brenda) Jr., Mike (Pam) and Chris (Kellie) Bush, Bonnie (Cliff) Craft and April Howell.

Burial is at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Napoleonville.
