April 13, 2018Roy Peter Babin, 83, born February 20, 1935, passed away at 9:40 a.m., April 3, 2018. He was a native of Bayou Blue and resident of Houma.
Family and friends of the family are invited to visitation on Friday, April 13, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home and Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. until service time at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma. Mass of Christian Burial will begin Saturday at 11 a.m., with burial following in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Hebert Babin; children, Ketti Breaux and husband, Bernie, Kevin Babin, Kyle Babin, and Kodi-Lee Babin and wife, Stephanie; brother, Robert “Bobby” Babin and wife, Josephine; sisters, Katie Babin Hotard and husband, Rulley, and Martha Babin Hebert and late husband Robert; grandchildren, Justin Breaux and wife, Shanna, Jared Breaux and wife, Tasha, Shanely Babin and companion, Matthew Adkins, Keslie Babin, Bryce Babin, Bryce Doxey and wife, Jessica, and Shelby Mae Doxey; and six great-grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Irene LeBlanc Babin; sisters, Dorothy Babin Knight, Betty Babin Levron, Nettie Babin Lafont and Susan Babin; and brothers, Calvin Babin and Sammy Babin.
Roy was a kind, generous person ready to help anyone in need. He was married to his beloved wife Catherine Hebert Babin for 61 years.
Roy loved being with his family and friends; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roy enjoyed watching T.V., especially the Saints and LSU. He had a love for fishing, hunting and camping. He loved the outdoors and working in the yard and mowing lawns.
Roy worked as an automobile mechanic at Quality Chevrolet and Trapp Chevrolet for forty four years. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma
