Dr. Thomas Joseph Mortillaro, 74, a native of Rochester, N.Y., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
Mr. Mortillaro was a professor of political science at Nicholls State University for 30 years and was also the Dean of Arts and Sciences. He loved teaching, reading, grilling, joking, talking politics, fishing, watching movies and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cheryl Mortillaro; sons, Ronald (Tammy) and Thomas (Jodi) Mortillaro; daughters, Lori Hunter, Tami (Bryson) Boehl and Valerie (Zachary) Laster; sister, Juanita Leidecker; and 10 grandchildren.
Burial is at a later date.
