A Schriever man is in custody after a joint investigation by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration yielded a sizable haul of illegal narcotics.
Two others are also facing charges following a search of the home authorities’ raided to make the arrest.
Hakeam Drane, 29, of Schriever, was wanted on drug charges following the investigation, which TPSO’s Chief Deputy Col. Terry Daigre said was “an on-going joint local-federal narcotics investigation.”
While taking him into custody on Wednesday, authorities also seized a quantity of illicit drugs, which has led to further charges.
The arrest was made at the 3500 block of Bayou Blue Road after authorities received information that Drane was at a residence.
Authorities surrounded the residence and ordered all occupants to come outside, according to Daigre.
After several minutes, Drane, Bradly Barker, 25, and two other men exited.
The two other men were not facing charges.
Drane was immediately taken into custody due to the federal narcotics violations.
While searching the residence, authorities also found Cedric Scott, 27, who was hiding inside.
During a search, authorities found 10 grams of crack cocaine, 44 and a half grams of heroin, prescription pills, $7,008 in cash, drug paraphernalia and two handguns, including one which was reported stolen from St. Charles Parish.
Authorities also searched Drane’s vehicle and found “some heroin and drug paraphernalia,” according to Col. Daigre.
Barker and Scott were arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession with intent to distribute a CDS II (crack cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Barker and Scott also had outstanding warrants.
They were taken to the Terrebonne Parish Jail and Col. Daigre said the investigation is ongoing.
Drane is in custody on multiple federal narcotics charges, per the outstanding warrant.
