The work to install field turf at Lafourche Pariah’s public high schools is almost done.

The carpet has been installed at Central Lafourche High School and the other public high schools in the parish have projects which will also be finished well in advance of the 2018 prep football season, which begins in late-August.

Funding for the project came from the renewal of an existing mill age, which voters passed, which goes to facility upgrades in the Lafourche Pariah Public School System.

The need for the turf fields comes because of the stiff workload the fields endure throughout the year between high school and middle school sports and band.

At the time of construction at the end of the 2017-2018 school year, workers said they hoped to be done by early August and they remain on schedule to easily meet trial deadline.
