Nicholls archivist was key to solving slavery-era mystery

Ulysse “Joey” Simon, 54, a native and resident of Chackbay, La., died on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
Mr. Simon was a hard worker who loved spending time with family, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Mindy Simon; daughters, Cammie (Dustn) Hernandez, Taylor, Cierra and Alexis Dorsey; and one grandchild.
Burial is at a later date.
