Week 8 Players of the Week

HONORABLE MENTION: Thibodaux High defense: The Tigers defense held strong against St. Augustine, using crisp tackling and sharp playmaking to keep the Purple Knights offense out of rhythm.

BRONZE: E.D. White halfback Nik Shanklin – The bruising ball carrier was a force on Friday, rushing 21 times for 145 yards and two scores. His effort led E.D. White to its fifth win of the season and the team’s third victory in district play.

SILVER: South Lafourche quarterback Jaydon Cheramie – Cheramie’s second-half emergence has been amazing. After tossing several interceptions in the team’s season opener against Bonnabel, Cheramie has been lights out, including a huge game both rushing and passing against Ellender on Thursday.

GOLD: South Terrebonne’s senior class – Kudos to the Gators. After winning 11 games last season, the Gators lost seven-straight to open 2015. But South Terrebonne finally broke through on Friday and trumped Morgan City for its first win. Way to not give up, seniors. Good job getting your first victory of the season.
