HAHNVILLE – 28 C. LAFOURCHE-6

Hahnville’s powerful defense limits the Central Lafourche offense, holding the Trojans to under 130 yards in Friday night’s win. Central Lafourche is now at a crossroads. With four wins on the season and two games left to play, the Trojans absolutely must win both of the next two games – the first against Terrebonne and the next against East St. John in Week 10.

DESTREHAN – 56 H.L. BOURGEOIS-12

The mighty Wildcats demolished the Braves on Friday night, controlling the game from start-to-finish with its timely offense and vicious defense. There’s no shame in this result for H.L. Bourgeois. Lots of teams fall to a dominant squad like Destrehan.

EAST ST. JOHN-47 TERREBONNE-37

The Tigers are officially out of the Class 5A playoff chase. After opening the season with two-straight wins, Terrebonne has again fallen off the map, losing six-straight games. The latest defeat is the team’s worst. East St. John entered the game with seven-straight losses to open up the season.

THIBODAUX-35 ST. AUGUSTINE-19

The Tigers never looked intimidated against its Catholic League foe, using its powerful rushing attack to push past a very good Golden Knights team. Thibodaux is a force to be reckoned with. Don’t be surprised if they push Destrehan to the limit on Friday night on the River. That game will decide the local 5A district crown.

ASSUMPTION-47 VANDEBILT – 22

The Terriers fall apart in the fourth quarter for the second-straight week, falling to the Mustangs to drop to 2-6 on the season. The score doesn’t indicate how close the game was for three quarters. Assumption swallowed Vandebilt whole in the fourth quarter after playing evenly with the Terriers for most of the game. The Mustangs’ powerful veer offense has been one of the big stories of the 2015 season.

SOUTH LAFOURCHE-48 ELLENDER-14

This one was over before it even got started. The Tarpons scored 41 first-half points to comfortably put away the Patriots, who never seemed to have a chance. The Tarpons are hitting their stride at the right time, having won three in a row.

S. TERREBONNE-28 MORGAN CITY-14

Congratulations to our friends in Bourg for their first win of the 2015 season – a nice, two-touchdown victory over Morgan City. The Gators are young and are taking their lumps this season. But all the struggles will pay off in the future.

E.D. WHITE-45 NORTH VERMILION-20

The Cardinals overcome last week’s loss against Patterson with a dominant victory over North Vermilion. E.D. White needs as many power points it can get to improve its seeding in the brutally tough Division II, which features several state powers.

CCA-34 ST. MARTIN’S-7

Friday night will be a huge night at Nicholls State University, as CCA will battle Houma Christian for the district championship. The Lions have won three-straight to overcome a 1-4 start. The latest win against St. Martin’s really wasn’t that close.

HOUMA CHRISTIAN – 28 CRESCENT CITY-14

Houma Christian looked really bad early in the season. But since about the middle of the team’s third game, the Warriors have flipped a switch and have been much, much better. Friday’s win was the team’s third-straight and fourth in five games.

South Terrebonne inducted Phillip Livas (middle) to their Athletic Hall of Fame this weekend. The Gators also got win No. 1 on the season.
