Patients who can’t afford dental care have an opportunity to be treated.
Crescent Dental in Lockport is hosting its 2nd Annual Dentistry from the Heart event from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9.
Dental exams, fillings, cleanings and extractions will be provided. Crescent Dental asks that only those who truly need the service and cannot afford it come.
Patients are encouraged to arrive early. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 50 patients are guaranteed to be seen.
People are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and bring chairs, blankets, snacks and water because they may be waiting outside.
More than 105 people were treated at the inaugural event.

Natl. Estuaries Day Saturday
The Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP) is hosting its 2nd Annual Estuary Artworks event at the Purple Penguin Art Company from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Artists will compete for $50 gift cards to the Purple Penguin. Categories include: 0-3, 4-7.8-12 and 13-18 year-olds.
