Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar broke ground on their fifth restaurant at 1795 Martin Luther King Blvd on Tuesday. The restaurant will be their new flagship location. The restaurant will bring between 120 and 150 new jobs to Houma.
The 8,000-square-foot restaurant will boast the usual Walk-On’s fare: Louisiana Cypress wood, exposed ducting, flat-screen TVs, over 50 beers on tap, custom pour-your-own table taps, a VIP room and banquet facilities, and a beer garden on an outdoor patio.
LaFont named Lafourche Council Chair
The Lafourche Parish Council named District 8 Councilman Jerry LaFont its chairman and District 5 Councilman John Arnold its vice-chairman at last Tuesday’s meeting.
LaFont served as vice-chairman in 2014. District 9 Councilman Daniel Lorraine was the Chairman in 2014.
Arnold was named vice-chairman after District 2 Councilman Michael Delatte declined.
Council to ponder tax proposal
The Lafourche Parish Council will consider adopting an ordinance at Tuesday’s meeting which would call for an election to authorize the renewal of ad valorem tax.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at the Mathews Government Complex, located at 4876 Hwy. 1.
