Southdown Elementary gets a sendoff next Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. The public is invited. Admission is $5 per adult without a graduating child.
The school is being demolished and a new facility built.
Santiago wins Southland’s top honor
Nicholls softball coach Angel Santiago was named the Southland Conference’s Coach of the Year on Monday morning – the third coach in program history to earn the honor.
Santiago led the Colonels to a 21-5 mark in conference play, a mark that earned the team the No. 2 seed at this weekend’s SLC Tournament in Lake Charles.
The Colonels will open play in the tournament this afternoon – first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.
