Colonels beat Incarnate Word

Nicholls is officially 1-0 in the Southland Conference.

The Colonels trumped the Cardinals on Saturday afternoon by a 35-28 margin, using almost 500 yards of offense in the victory.

Nicholls outgained Incarnate Word 498-257 in the victory, which is Nicholls’ fourth Southland win under second-year coach Tim Rebowe.

With the victory, the Colonels built on the momentum they earned in their season opener when they nearly upset Georgia and shocked the college football world.

The Colonels will return to action on Saturday when they travel to take on South Alabama.

South Alabama also scored a big SEC upset, beating Mississippi State in the first week of the college football season.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. in Mobile.
