The Lafourche Council on Aging is collecting various items in honor of Older Americans Month.
Shampoo, body soap, Dial hand soap, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste are needed to aid area senior citizens. Donations can be delivered to the Council on Aging office at 4876 La. Highway 1 in Mathews or at any Lafourche senior center.

Terrebonne High School Band Boosters hold fundraiser
The Terrebonne High School Crimson Pride Band is hosting their annual $11,000 drawing on Saturday at the Houma Municipal Auditorium. Proceeds from the event fund a large portion of the THS band program. Guests will enjoy a steak dinner, drinks, dessert and music. More importantly, guests will have the opportunity to win up to $10,000 at the drawing. Tickets will go into a pool and five will be drawn for $200 prizes. The last one drawn will be for $10,000.
