July 8, 2015Supper Club offers 6-course meal at Houma eatery Saturday
The Cicada Supper Club, at 531 Liberty St., Houma, is offering a six-course summer Southern-rooted meal at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 11.
The menu includes Southern favorites like black-eyed pea soup with pigtails, grilled shrimp, skillet zucchini and squash. Dessert options include key lime pie and peach, plum and cherry cobbler with Creole cream cheese ice cream. Cost for the meal is $35 per person and it’s a BYOB affair.
Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations can be made by calling 985-223-2233 or via facebook at 531 Liberty.
Band to perform patriotic show
A free health fair will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, at the TGMC Medical Center Auditorium, 8120 Main St., Houma. It is being sponsored by the Cardiovascular Institute of the South and Terrebonne General Medical Center.
Participants will be able to get free screenings, including a full cholesterol profile and the In-Body 230 scale, blood pressure and body mass index. Visitors can also get information and consultations on smoking cessation, venous disease, and weight and diabetes management.
Reservations are required; and to RSVP, call 985-873-4616. The screening is made possible from the proceeds of the Houma Heart & Soles Half-Marathon and 5K, hosted annually by CIS and TGMC.
