Houma Man Arrested for Narcotics and Sex Crimes Involving a Juvenile

On July 1, 2024, detectives with the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division Houma Field Office, HPD Narcotics Division, TPSO Narcotics Division, and Homeland Security Investigations Houma Field Office (HSI HFO) conducted search warrants at two separate residences on Hibernia Place and Express Boulevard in Houma as part of a narcotics trafficking investigation. The investigation led to the arrest of 29-year-old Javonne Amacker of Houma. Amacker was additionally charged with third degree rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Underage Impaired Driver Arrested in Lafourche Parish Crash That Killed Two and Injured Others

On July 21, 2024, shortly after 1:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 3090 near AJ Estay Road. The crash claimed the lives of 18-year-old Rylan Oncale of Raceland and 18-year-old Taliyah Crochet of Houma. The surviving driver, 18-year-old Axel Flores-Cordova of Honduras, provided a voluntary breath sample, which revealed a blood alcohol concentration nearly seven times over the underage legal limit.
