Impaired Wrong Way Driver Strikes State Police Unit Head-On

LSP Troop C recently investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on LA Hwy 24 North (West Park Ave.) near the Patrick Bridge. One of the vehicles involved was a Louisiana State Police unit, and a Trooper sustained minor injuries as a result. 63-year-old Deak Matteson Jr. of Guin, AL, was driving on the wrong side of the road, failed to stop after the Trooper activated their emergency lights and sirens, and struck the State Police unit head-on.

LSP Alert: 2-year-old Kaizor Louis taken by non-custodial parent

The Louisiana State Police has issued a Level II Endangered/Missing Child Advisory on behalf of the St. Martinville Police Department for 2-year-old Kaizor Louis. Louis was last seen on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. in St. Martinville. He was taken by his non-custodial mother from his daycare in St. Martinville and was last seen traveling south on Resweber Street in a black sedan.

7-year-old killed after being struck by school bus

Yesterday, shortly before 4:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash involving a juvenile pedestrian in the 500 block of Louisiana Highway 665. This crash claimed the life of 7-year-old Jeremiah Falgout of Montegut.

Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled for Lafourche Parish

Louisiana State Police Troop C, in partnership with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office and Thibodaux Police Department, plans to conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location in Lafourche Parish.
