Don’t blame yourself for loving music from the movies so much! Le Petit Theatre de Terrebonne is presenting the musical “Blame It on the Movies!” starting in July. The revue has around 75 songs and medleys from Hollywood films beginning in the World War II years and moves up to more recent fare. Categories of films include foreign movies, Saturday matinees and Oscar losers.

The goings-on take place on a single set that opens in a movie theater; a few dancing sequences are sprinkled in, along with the spoken dialogue.

The cast of 10 features usherette Kami Ellender as your guide through the musical past, Meredith Owens, Jillian Vedros-Rowan, Nicole Aucoin and Michael Klaus.

The eclectic song list includes “As Time Goes By” from “Casablanca;” “The Way We Were;” “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly;” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” from “Meet Me in St. Louis;” “On the Road Again” from “Honeysuckle Rose;” “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” from “Footloose” and “I’ve Got a Gal in Kalamazoo.”

Shows run from Thursday, July 16, to Sunday, Aug. 2, except for Mondays. All times are at 7:30 p.m. except Sundays, which are at 2 p.m.

The theater is located at 7829 Main St. in downtown Houma. Call (985) 876-4278 for more information.
