Hear the Rhythms on the River

Are you ready to enjoy the Rhythms on the River in Morgan City? Fashioned after Houma’s Live After 5, the concert series kicks off April 24 with Don Rich and the Don Rich Band performing live on Main Street.

Café Jo Jo’s manager Bonnie Knobloch said the free six-week concert series is the culmination of work by city officials, the Morgan City Main Street, the Chamber of Commerce and the Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau.

Rich’s appearance will be followed by TK Hulin (May 8), Deja Vu (May 22) and Waylon Thibodeaux (May 28). [Performers had not been finalized as off press time for May 1 and May 15. Check www.gumbo.com for a final schedule.]

Showtimes are from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

“I worked at a restaurant in Houma and saw how Downtown Live After 5 really pulled the Main Street area together,” Knobloch said. “We are emulating that program and offering Morgan City residents the chance to come together, enjoy Main Street and hear some good music, too.”
