Holiday garbage pickup announced

Garbage services normally scheduled for Christmas Day will be collected on Friday, Dec. 28 – the next scheduled pickup day for Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes, officials at SweeDee Solid Waste Disposal announced.

Trash pickup normally scheduled for New Year’s Day will be collected on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008.

The holiday schedule change also affects the City of Grand Isle.

All recycling within the City of Thibodaux scheduled for Dec. 24 and 25 will be collected on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

Recycling collection within the city slated for Dec. 31 and New Year’s Day will be picked up on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.
