T. Baker Smith has expanded its operations to a new Thibodaux office.

Located on South Acadia Road, the office is located across from Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.

For the past seven years, T. Baker Smith rented office space on East 2nd Street in Thibodaux. The small space was limited to only three workers.

The South Acadia office, however, includes workspace for 23 people, according to officer manager Jimmy Ledet.

The two-story building measures 5,500 square feet. The Acadian-style office building was designed by Gossen Holloway and Associates and constructed by BET Construction, a Byron Talbot company.

“I believe that our new office gives us a stronger presence and shows that we are committed to the Thibodaux and Lafourche parish communities.”

“T. Baker Smith is here to stay,” he added.

The permanent presence of T. Baker Smith was hailed by Thibodaux Mayor Charles Caillouet. “We are happy to have a well-established company like T. Baker Smith as part of our community,” he said.

“The Thibodaux office is an example of how we give our existing people the resources needed to grow and develop professionally,” company president and CEO Kenny Smith said.

The added space, he noted, allows for future expansion within the firm as well. “With the space in this office, we will be able to hire more people interested in being a part of what we are building at T. Baker Smith,” he said.

Headquartered in Houma for almost a century, T. Baker Smith provides its clients engineering, environmental, geophysical, marine positioning and construction management services.

Smith said the firm’s client base reaches across the Gulf South and beyond.

In addition to Thibodaux and Houma, T. Baker Smith has offices in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Houston.
