Cameron “Buddy” Morvant Jr., 68, a native of Labadieville, La., and a resident of Vacherie, La., died Thursday, May 22.
He is survived by his wife, Gilda Lassere Morvant; son, Kerry Morvant and wife, Mary; daughter, Tanya Touchard; brothers, Robert Morvant and wife, Dollie, and Jerald Morvant and wife, Maxine; sisters, Mrs. Mike “Carol” Aucoin and Mrs. A.J. “Debra” Toney; and grandchildren, Quinn Morvant, Morgan Elizabeth Morvant, Cam Falgoust and Dex Falgoust.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cameron Morvant Sr. and Glory Clause Morvant; and brother, Charles Morvant.
“Buddy” was a loving and devoted spouse, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed fishing, trawling, gardening and farming. He devoted his life to his family and was a sugar-cane farmer for 40 years.
He was buried at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church Cemetery in Vacherie.
Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of the arrangements.
