Elfer V. Charpentier, Sr., 89, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died Tuesday, October 21, at 11:30 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Smith Charpentier; sons, Elfer Jr., Richard Sr. and Tommy Charpentier; sister, Rena Plaisance; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Guidry Charpentier; parents, Pierre and Adrianne Guidry Charpentier; son, Robert Charpentier Sr.; brothers, Norman, Lonie, Argis and Raymond Charpentier; and sisters, Leona Favalora, Mary Ann Griffin, Pauline Sevin, Emma Lois Toups, Enola Charpentier and Clarice Charpentier.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a parishioner of First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow, La.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, October 23, at First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow with the funeral service to follow. He will be buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off.
Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
